Chairman's Trophy Winners 2014
As you know, discussions have been ongoing for several months now with North Ayrshire Council, SportScotland, and various other funding agencies, over plans to replace the current Pavilion at Memorial Field, clearly no longer “fit for purpose”, and to upgrade pitches.
The objectives has always been to ensure that we are able to fulfil the remit of the original Trustees by providing playing field space and related quality facilities for the school and its pupils, past and present, and for the wider local community, just as we have done successfully for several decades. To achieve this, we have examined different funding models, including selling the current car parking area, applying for Lottery, Trust and Grant funding, sourcing benefactors and sponsors, as well as generating funding from within our own ranks..
New developments have taken place recently which could lead to a change of direction in our discussions and we would like to share these with you as a member and hear your views on a possible route that might be advantageous to the Memorial Field Trust, the school, the various clubs involved and the entire community affected by current plans to replace Ardrossan Academy.
You are invited to join us in Memorial Field Pavilion, Sorbie Road, on Monday 1st July at 7.30 p.m. when we will present our thoughts on a possible new way ahead and one which could produce positive and far-reaching benefit for all parties involved.
I look forward to welcoming you to our meeting on Monday 1st July.
